The Limar Bio Gel Tech bib short is constructed using seven Spandex/Lycra panels with flat lock stitching for a great anatomical contoured fitment – the more panel’s you have the more the shorts can take the shape of the rider.
When you compare Bibs shorts against standard non-bib shorts without the shoulder straps, the benefit of the additional straps is that you get much higher comfort and performance, why do you ask?
The addition of shoulder straps greatly improves the fit, it does this by stopping the shorts from falling down and you don't have to rely on an tight elastic waist as used in standard non-bib shorts to hold them up and keep them in place.
Riding puts a lot of stress on the seat area of your clothing this in turns puts more stress on the shorts and the elastic waistline so standard non-bib shorts can be uncomfortably tight on your waist in the hope that the tight waist fitment keeps them in place. When you bend forward into the ride position to put it simply your bum sticks outs and this will also make standard elastic waistline shorts stress-out at the rear and potentially drop down exposing your lower back – this can be uncomfortable and also so lead to the chamois pad in the short not staying in the right place.
The motion of riding particularly when climbing hills you tend to push back into your saddle this motion can also start to work down your shorts in the standard elastic waist cycling short, as the short moves with stress of riding the essential chamois pad can also go out of position which again leads to more discomfort.
Bib Shorts/Knicks stay up because the shoulder straps are constantly pulling up keeping the cycling shorts up and in the correct position without the use of uncomfortable elastic waist band. Because the shorts keep in position this greatly improves overall riding comfort, stops the dreaded saggy crotch - which can lead to shorts catching on the nose of the saddle and this also puts the chamois pad in the wrong position.
The Limar bib short with protective foam GEL - Chamois Pad has great shock absorption ability and shapely fit with many weld lines to ensure the chamios pad fold corectly around the body - to further aid ergonomics - all this adds up to a more comfort ride.
